Terms of use
What you can expect from this site, and what it expects from you.
These terms are written in plain English and describe the site as it works today. They have not yet been reviewed by a Bermuda lawyer; that review is planned before any major public launch. Using the site means you accept these terms.
What this site is
441 Service Finder is an independent directory of Bermuda businesses. It helps residents find a local business and helps businesses be found. It is not a party to any work arranged through it, doesn't take a cut of jobs, and doesn't employ or represent the businesses listed. Anyone may search and browse; you need to be at least 18 to create an account or post a job.
What we don't guarantee
We don't vouch for the quality of any business's work. Most listings were compiled from public sources and haven't been confirmed by the business. Where we have checked something specific — that a business confirmed its own details, that we checked who runs a listing, that we were shown a licence — the profile says exactly what was checked, when, and by whom. None of those checks say anything about workmanship, reliability or price, and none of them come from the Government, the Chamber of Commerce, or any other body. Get quotes, ask for references, and use your own judgement, as you would with any tradesperson.
We also can't promise that a business will respond to you, that its listed details are current, or that the site is available at every moment. Details can go out of date; each profile shows when they were last confirmed.
If you post a job
Describe a real job you want done. Your description is shown to businesses in that trade and parish; your name and contact details are shown only to businesses that choose to accept the lead, and no more than 4 can do that per job. Accepting a lead gets a business your contact details; it isn't a promise that you'll hire them or that they'll do the work. Don't include anything you wouldn't want a stranger to read, such as your address or when you'll be away — a business will ask for what it needs. Don't post jobs that aren't genuine, that advertise your own services, or that are abusive; we remove those and may block the sender. You can ask us to delete a job at any time.
If you list or claim a business
You may only claim a listing for a business you're authorised to represent, and everything you publish about it must be true. You confirm your email address to claim. Changes you make are reviewed before they go live; we may decline a change that makes a claim we can't stand behind, and we'll tell you why. You must not describe yourself as licensed, insured or certified unless you are, and you must not upload a logo or image you don't have the right to use.
Free listings stay free and stay genuinely useful — searchable, with your contact details, description, trade and parish. Paying never changes whether a listing appears in results or how it ranks organically. Any paid placement is labelled “Sponsored” wherever it appears, and paying can never buy a trust check.
Accepting a customer's lead costs a flat fee banded by the size the customer chose: $10.00 for a small job, $25.00 standard, $60.00 major, all in Bermuda dollars. You're told the price before you confirm. The fee is for the customer's contact details; it isn't a promise the customer will hire you. Fees are invoiced and payable as shown on your dashboard.
Using the site
Don't scrape the directory in bulk, try to get around the limits we put on forms, probe for security weaknesses, impersonate a business or a person, or use the site to send unsolicited marketing. The listing information here was compiled from public sources and is provided for people looking for a business; the site's design, text and code are ours. Businesses own their own names, logos and descriptions.
Removal, suspension and complaints
We may remove or suspend a listing, an account, or a job that breaks these terms, is inaccurate, or that we're asked to remove by the business it describes. Any business can have its listing corrected or removed, free, through the listing request form. If you think we've got something wrong — a listing, a review decision, a removal — use the same form and say so; a person reads every request and we aim to respond within two business days.
Liability
The site is provided as it is. To the extent Bermuda law allows, we aren't liable for work done or not done by any business, for the accuracy of listing details we compiled from public sources, or for loss arising from your use of the site. Nothing here limits liability that can't be limited by law.
Law and changes
These terms are governed by the laws of Bermuda. If we change them, the changes take effect when published here; if a change matters, we'll say so on the site. See also our privacy page.
