What 441 Service Finder is — and isn't

Written for anyone deciding whether to trust, link to, or work with this site.

What it is

A free, searchable directory of Bermuda trades and service businesses — currently 330 businesses across 44 categories, listed by trade and parish. Residents can search, browse and contact any business without an account, or post a job once and hear from businesses in that trade. Businesses can be found for free and can claim and manage their own listing for free.

Who runs it

441 Service Finder is independent and Bermudian-owned. It is not part of, funded by, or operated on behalf of the Government of Bermuda, any Government department, the Chamber of Commerce, the Bermuda Economic Development Corporation, any insurer, or any other body. Where the site links to an official source — the Department of Planning, the Bermuda Weather Service, BELCO — it's pointing you to them, not speaking for them.

Where the listings come from

Every listing is a real Bermuda business. Most were compiled from public sources — the Bermuda Yellow Pages, the Chamber of Commerce's public member directory, and businesses' own websites — and each listing links to where its details came from. Nothing is invented: no made-up businesses, phone numbers, ratings or reviews. Where a source gave no parish or no phone, the field is left blank rather than guessed. Descriptions are written from the facts, not copied.

Because most listings haven't yet been touched by the business itself, each profile says plainly whether the business has confirmed its details, and when. As of today, 1 listing has been claimed by the business. Any business can claim, correct or remove its listing, free, at any time.

What the site does and doesn't claim

We don't vouch for the quality of anyone's work. Where a profile shows a check — that a business confirmed its own details, that we checked who runs a listing, that we were shown a licence — it says exactly what was checked, when, and by whom, and states what it doesn't cover. No check is ever sold: paying for placement can never buy a trust mark, and paying never changes how a listing ranks in results. Sponsored placement, where it exists, is labelled as such.

How the site is paid for

Being listed is free. Being found is free. If a business chooses to accept a customer's job request, that costs a small flat fee for the contact details — and a bad lead is free. That's the model. There are no charges to residents, ever.

Privacy

No tracking cookies, no advertising profiles, no IP addresses stored. We publish only business contact details that were already public, and we don't publish home addresses. A resident's job request goes only to businesses in that trade and parish, and their name and number only to the few that accept it. Full details are on the privacy page.

Guides

Alongside the directory, the site publishes plain-English guides that sequence the trades a resident needs for a given situation: planning a renovation or new build, hurricane preparation and recovery, moving house, selling a property, arriving new to Bermuda and hosting a wedding or event. They link to official sources for anything official and to the directory for who to call. They are a map, not advice, and not official guidance.

Linking to us

Anyone is welcome to link to any page on this site — a category, a guide, a business profile — with no permission needed. If you're a department, association or organisation considering pointing residents or members here and want to talk about it first, use the contact form and say so; a person reads every message. We won't display your name, logo or any suggestion of endorsement without your written agreement.

Reporting a problem

Wrong details on a listing, a business that should be removed, a privacy request, or anything else — the listing request form reaches us directly, needs no account, and we aim to respond within two business days.
